Matching tiles will remove other tiles with numbers one less. Then those tiles can remove other tiles with number one less. So matching 4s can remove 3s, then 3s can remove 2s. The distance the tiles can remove other tiles is the number on the tile.
tiles with 1 on them can only be removed by creating the chain reactions.
