Helping young learners move from learning their ABC's and moving to their CVC's with the ability to practice blending and phonics with this simple Phonics word game. This educational app contains CVC and three letter word games designed for young learners. Simple English words are mixed up and children and students are asked to move the letters till they spell the words correctly. These words are all three letters and can be used to teach decoding and spelling strategies, including sounding out, picture recognition, phonics and onset and rime. There are 4 versions included and these are: CVC Timed: a 60 second word game where the student tries to do as many words as they can in time. This allows classrooms with less access to technology to take turns easier. Pictures Round: CVC and three letter mixed up word game with pictures to help visual learners. There is a 60 second limit to allow for turn taking. Word hints: CVC and three letter word game with simple word clues to help. Helps with comprehension. Sentence: Just a little mini word game of one sentence to arrange into the right order. I am an English teacher and teach literacy, reading strategies and phonics to young learners. The easiest way is to use word games and make lessons fun. This app has been tried on my own students in their reading and phonics lessons and it makes reading much easier when they are engaged and motivated. Teaching phonics can be more than just flashcards with apps like these you can watch all your students play phonics games and learn and have fun at the same time! Teaching Phonics in the home and the classroom is always a useful tool for students of English. It can be a challenge for children to recognize the difference between English Phonic sounds and some of the lesson programs can be a little repetitive. I notice a lot of people have resources for teaching the phonics sounds but not so many to teach how to construct words once they have learnt those sounds. The phonics games and word games I am making are aimed at teachers and parents to follow the little and often method of teaching these skills and phonic sounds. The best way to do this is not to play and play and play these word games but to dip in once or twice a week to practice and learn. This is why i have kept them simple.
